Link is to the product.  You can get them in the U.K. too.  Has anyone tried it?  Does it work?

Haven't tried the chillow, but the Canine Cooler is fantastic!!!  Highly recommended.

Does the flooring underneath these mats get wet?
- By Archiebongo Date 21.06.07 18:27 UTC
YES, as I discovered the other day, I put them in the car cage for an breed open show and forgot about them.  Needless to say the dogs pushed them to one side.  I forgot I had left them there and a few days later driving to work, couldnt work out where the musty smell was comming from!

Ugh! Thanks for that - was thinking about getting one for inside the house but think I'll give it a miss!

Wonder if it's 'cos they're wet lol.  The canine cooler is totally dry to lie on (unless they chew it )

Mine don't really like the ones you soak either but they are handy for car journeys.

I currently have this one for my Newf.  They are excellent as long as you don't want something that you can move from room to room...there's 34 litres of water in the large size and it's bloomin' heavy!!

How about these ones - do they get wet underneath?

34 litres! What happens if you need to empty it?
- By ShaynLola Date 22.06.07 18:04 UTC
Nope, totally dry.  If it's wet, it means it's sprung a leak

>What happens if you need to empty it?

No idea!!  Haven't crossed that particular bridge yet :)  The majority of the water soaks into an inner spongey 'core' so I'm not entirely sure that it can be emptied as such

Was thinking about one for the bedroom (no, not for me :P) but wonder what 34 litres of water would look like coming through the living room ceiling

They do look good though so might have to give it some more thought! The bedroom gets boiling in the summer but my dog insists on being in there even though he's then up and down all night pacing around, too hot to get comfortable (can't open the big window as have visions of said dog jumping out ). Already have a big fan for him, so wonder if one of these might help also.

Our last cooler bed sprung a leak (after about 2 years of continuous use) and the water sort of oozes out gradually rather than pouring out so I doubt you'd ever find yourself with gallons of water gushing out of it :D  You can fix minor leaks by using a paddling pool/lilo repair kit.

We have the same problem with our Newf.  She starts off in our room at night but if it's too hot she goes to the cool bed which is in the next room :) So we all get a better night's sleep ;-)

Hiya,

I've got a canine cooler too. Mines the medium size and takes about 4 1/2 gallons of water.  It's great though, i bought mine of eBay from the USA and it worked out miles cheaper even with the postage costs.

Yes they do work I had a ex large on & when our GSD was ill last year it relly helped keep her comfortable. Unfortunately on of the Cavaliers chewed it afterwards & I had to bin it

You can get the smaller Chillows that are pillow sized & although it states that a pet using it will invalidate the warranty if it's in a pillow case or cover it will be protected

I have the gel mattresses from hub & I put them in a pillow case & my old cavalier loves them
