Does anyone order directly from them ?? When we move to Norfolk we shall have more room for bigger freezers and we shall only be a few miles from them. However, looking on their site it seems that there is little or no price advantage from buying in bulk from them. The prices look much the same as they are in PAH :( (Plus a delivery charge) Also amazed to see that they charge £4 for 2kg of chicken wings :(

If you call them and ask you register as a breeder you can get the breeders price. I don't breed alot and got it.  It is about half the price of PAH for sure.

Wouldnt everyone do this and say they are a breeder..How do they check,or do they?

Most food companies you can say your a breeder if you claim you have a brood bitch. (Ie a non-spayed bitch)

I remember many years ago when I was alot younger, going round shows with my parents (especially Crufts) where evey food manufacturer would encourage you to become a breeder member so you can get discount on your dog food.

We have only bred one litter many years ago and are breeder memebers with Eukanuba as this is the main food we feed our dogs.  I think my parents also joined Arden Grange this year as one of our dogs doesn't suit Eukanuba and so is on AG insted.  Means we can buy in bulk alot cheeper :) Last litter 9 years ago.

I don't think it's possible for them to check because you can always say you are planning on breeding in the near future....

I guess at the end of the day they don't give a hoot as long as they get a regular order from you.. it is just another marketing ploy on their behalf not really the customer.

I have the breeders PDF price list if anyone wants it to compare prices. I know I am a lot cheaper that PAH.

I had a quick look most boxes are £3.99 for 10 packs. So 40p per pack..  Lamb is £4.34.

My PAH are 70p and approx  80p for the lamb dinner which I use a lot of.  £50 worth fills my freezer to the brim..

Just chipping in here, their requirement to prove you are a breeder is your affix, they need the number too, and will ask what you do with dogs, show/work/etc. They are really friendly though, and email the questionaire for you to fill in, along with their breeder discount.

Blimey thats expensive! Landywoods do lamb tripe for 22p lb, minced beef and hearts 29p lb etc. The best buy though is their sack of marrow bones, around 18 for £3.50 :)

Thanks for the replies :) I will look at Landywoods too. With only two, not huge, dogs (18 and 21 kg) they don't eat loads so will have to make sure that we have a big enough freezer. I remember someone on here not having enough space when the delivery arrived :D :D :D

I think the big problem, is that they are not in the little square blocks that stack neatly, from what has been said, even though the blocks are in pound lumps.  Also, their min order is £50, and as they are so cheap that means a lot of meat ;) So you do need a roomy freezer, unless your order would consist of their biccies (if you use biccies) which cuts the amount of meat down for the min order.

That is always my problem as I only have a 4 -5 cubic foot freezer.

I got my landywoods delivery today, managed to squeeze £50 worth into a smaller under the counter freezer which is in my shed and the rest into my freezer in the kitchen (my chest freezer died :( ) I now have one drawer of my food - the rest is dog meat !!

So who's eating better in your house then? ;) :D
