Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / Which frozen meat to chose
- By calmstorm Date 13.06.07 11:01 UTC
I use Prize Choice, because the supplier is close to me, but when I get my doggy freezer I will be able to bulk buy. I have never used Landywoods, anyone here who uses both can advise which they think is best? Storage won't be a problem, but are both as good quality as each other? Pms are fine if you don't want to give an opinion on main. Thanks :)

To be honest if you buy from Prize choice direct they are as competitive in price as most others.  I think my freezer holds 12 boxes of Prize choice meat and I find with only £2.95 delivery and they will put it in the freezer if you ask that they are really very good just now.  I went away from them a while back due to the minimum order value being put up BUT they put it because I couldn't get anymore in my freezer and 12 boxes is more that enough at a time bvut they put the min order value back down to £50. Direct price is less that 50% of the MRP that you get charged in the pet shops..

HTHs :-)

I've used both, and Albion, and have to say out of the 3 I prefer Landywoods, as do the dogs more importantly! I've only had one delivery from them but the quality IMO is superior to the others and they are certainly cheaper than AMP. The meat is coarser, for want of a better description, and less "mushy" than the others. I feed 5 dogs and it costs me around £30 a month (plus freebees from my butcher).

I'd agree with Pedlee, the tripe from Landywoods is far nicer  than Prize Choice tripe. Not that I've tried it myself of course, but it's much more fibrous, with less liquid. The dogs will eat any of them happily but I prefer Landywoods :)

Oh Christine...just picture my household at tea time....all that fibrous tripe in the dog bowls and I'm eating a bowl of bread and butter pudding :P :D :D
