It's interesting!!! Would the cord not get in the way as you are riding? I can see in theory it is a good idea. Would depend on how easy it was to set it off by accident as could see anything I ride having a fit if that suddenly went off as we were half way round a course or something!!!!

:-D
Would be interested to see them in person. :-D

I really like the look of that, but I'm so dozy I would forget to release the wire before dismounting - you can just imagine the poor horse. Also I'd be concerned that the horse would kick out if you make an air hissing sound when falling off - like a giant snake :)

Same here ...
I also jump on and off a lot when I have no one to put jumps up for me ... or when my girl makes a fuss at gates ... or when I drop something.
Best I don't get an airbag then ...

I just have this image of cantering up the hill, horse spooking, me bouncing along the bridlepath in my airbag and Joshua vanishing into the distance wondering why marshmallow man just got off his back :D

Why not just wear padded stuff like bikers/

Because you need freedom of movement to ride - you also don't get the dragging, skin removing effect (usually) when you fall off that bikers suffer from. Its really the back that needs protecting if doing a higher risk activity - XC etc.

There are videos on the site under Horse jumping of the vests in action...ie being activited during a fall.....
