Topic Dog Boards / Feeding / What Should I Feed

I need some advice and ideas what might suit my girl.
She was bought up on P&H own and about 6-8 months ago changed to Wainwrights.
Then my JRT developed anemia and a stomach ulcer so I changed him to Nature diet which suits him well and he is now fine. I tried my big girl on it a few weeks ago and it really suited her too, but being single and bringing up my grandaughter I found it way to expensive to keep my big girl on so I put her 2 weeks ago back onto P&H complete.
Now back in Jan or Feb my girl went down with an awful stomach upset and was vomiting blood and ended up on a drip and very ill. Then 6 days ago she started being sick again and has been under the vet all week and has now developed the runs too (although that could be the medication she is on).
I now wonder if perhaps the dried food (even though I soak it) is causing the problems or if the last tummy problem has left her with a sensitive stomach so the dried food has irritated it and made her ill again.
Years ago when I used to show collies I got fresh paunch from the slaughter house and just sliced chunks off for the collies to rip up and eat themselves. I never had a tummy upset and they were the peak of health and I never washed the paunch so all the stomach contents and goodness were there for them too.
I can't get it this fresh now but I wondered if the frozen blocks of minced tripe at P&H would make a better diet for my girl, but I am concerned as it is all washed and clean this won't be enough on its own.
I have very limited freezer space but could pick up 6 blocks a time from there and make room for them.
I need something gentle on her stomach that will give her all she needs that won't work out too expensive.
There is no way I can order bulk from anywhere.
My girl is a Rottie x GSD and weighs around 36kg.

With digestive, skin, coat etc problems the first thing i look at is diet, and as you said it could very well be the dry food causing this, wetted down or not.
I think the green tripe is an excellent idea,as far as i know the P&H one is green tripe.Perhaps also give Naturediet a go.If making your girl healthy again means stopping dry food then i'm all for it! Or if you really want to start feeding it again i would go for a better quality, simple kibble.

Try tinned chappie, it is often what vets suggest for  dogs with problems like  yours

bowers chappie isn't really ideal for long term use.  The chicken and rice is good for icky tums though.

Why not?

I would also like to know why as I am now thinking of getting her onto the chicken and rice Chappie  with burns mixer meal, when she comes off the ID.

Cheap and cheerful Chappie is very good for sensitive tums but I would get some sort of biscuit mixer to add to it in small amounts to keep the teeth and gums in good order.

Just re read you are going to give her burns mixer as well.  I would think this is a good combination.
