What an awful couple of weeks we have had with the poor dogs.
What with all the problems Holly has had losing her pups and ending up with depression that was enough.
Poor Sid last week had a huge haematoma on his ear flap that needed surgery to drain the blood and left him with a drain for 5 days. It has not healed that well with still a fair amount of fluid coming from the 2 wounds. His ear is hot to touch and quite red despite being on strong antibiotics. The Vet has said it will never be the same as his other, always being thicker.
Heather our eldest (14) had surgery yesterday to remove tumours from the mammary strip. She was in overnight and home this afternoon. Poor soul is very subdued and sleepy. We would have preferred to have left the lumps but they grew into large tumours very rapidly so was concerned for her well being.
This morning I found a very angry growth on the side of Sid's face, not sure if it's an abscess or what and it's sore to touch.
The Vet fees have been very costly, not that I begrudge it of the dogs but it has made a right hole in the savings that we had for the new house, that we can now not afford as it has risen £30000 in the last 3 months and it's not being built till the end of the year.

Oh my goodness - you haven't had a very good time of it lately

That's too much bad luck for anyone to cope with -keeping everything crossed for things to turn round for the better now!!

That is part of having dogs though as you never know what is round the corner :)
