Hi all
Just a quickie. Molly has spent a lot of the day licking one of her back paws. We have bathed the paw and examined it and can't see any red skin or sores. Until i can get her to the vets tomorrow i was wondering if i can put sudocream or similar just to calm it.
Thanks
Marie
ps I ask about sudocream as I have less than a week til babes arrive :) and have a rather large supply of it.

Hi Marie, I can't say if sudocrem is ok and I notice noone has posted. Can you put a sock on to stop her licking and a ickle bit of sudo? We have paw prob at the mo so I know how you must be feeling.

We had a dog who suffered food intolerances due to complete foods and who would lick his front paws til sore and then infected- we used sudocrem on them - its great stuff and really cheap
(we slso changed his diet after a food trial so sudocrem didnt work alone incase anyone wonders)

I don't know about the sudocream but itchy feet can be an indication of full anal glands. If you can't find anything in the paw itself might be worth a rear end check.
what do you do to stop them licking the sudocream??

Take them out for a walk. They can't walk and lick! ;) Hopefully by the time they get home the cream will have done a bit of good.

Hi Lori, thats interesting never heared that. Our Lab had his anal glands removed recently due to scooting. It was like having Michael Jackson moonwalking past the kitchen window! We tried everything and resorted to having them removed. Every week we had them emptied with the vet, I couldn't do it, so it was the only way forward, the poor lad was beside himself. It has limited the scooting but he still does it. Maybe out of habit but he is fanatical about cleaning his paws and has always been so!
