has anyone got a link to this show where I can download a schedule or do an online entry ? - the links that I've found take me to the Three Counties schedule . I've just realised that the closing date is this Friday

why is there never any cc's on offer for boxers at SWKA?
- By Dill [gb] Date 27.05.07 10:21 UTC
Or for Bedlington Terriers :(     it's the nearest show for us and a lovely venue but just a glorified open show as far as I'm concerned :( :(

Been going there without CC's since 95, but we got our CC's back this year, giving us 19 sets a year.  So we don't get tickets at much more than half the general champ shows.

What i don't understand is that Bedlingtons have CC's at both SKC shows yet not even the normal number of classes as numbers are really low owing to the distance to travel     Far more people come to the Welsh Kennel Club Show, so it's possible that more entries would be recieved for Usk show than SKC

Who and what influences where CC's are awarded?

Can't find on KC website how many CC's are awarded to Bedlies   and the club website that would tell me is down :(

I am pleased to have the extra set at Usk as It is nearer for me, but it makes no sense as it was never one of the better supported shows when we had CC's before, yet Southern counties, especially since it's move to Newbury has had very good entries without tickets (having Scandinavian judges most years has helped), better than some of the entries for SKC with CC's.

We only have CC's fr the representative SKC show, the Scottish Hound show and Border Union, and then the Scottish club show.

that gives CC's in Scotland in April, May, June and October.  This doesn't encourage interest in the breed and although there is a breed club there are no active breeders, though there are some new members that have bred their first litters.  Used to be a hotbed for the breed in bygone days.

No idea how the Kennel Club allocate the CC's to be honest.

Me neither Barbara!  The CCs for Pharaohs seem to follow no pattern of date, geographical placing, exhibitors, etc.  We have the four representative shows, plus Houndshow, the Club show (at Baginton), Leeds and, from next year, single CCs at WELKS, East of England, Darlington and Midland Counties.  This means no CCs for the six months between Midland Counties and Crufts and, apart from WKC, no full sets of CCs south of Birmingham!  I know the breed club have asked time and time again to have CCs at Windsor as it used to be very well supported without CCs and was also the very first Ch show to give us breed classes but to no avail.

As far as I know quite a few Pharaoh owners and exhibitors are in the South, it really makes no sense.

Why don't the kennel club ask the breed clubs how they would like the CC's allocated, as they will know the geographical spread of exhibitors, and also hopefully have shows when the dogs are at their best.

We have now got 4 CC shows in July, (Windsor, SWKA, East of England and Leeds) which arguably is not the best time of year for a thick coated breed, and if you have the bad luck to own a bitch that comes in season for the first one she could miss nearly a quarter of the shows at one fell swoop.

We have no CC's between Midland Counties & Crufts too and wthis is a coated breed I own.  Those winter months are the most likeliest for a dog to be in full coat!    If you have pups born at the end of April, they will be almost a year old by the time they get to their first Championship show (WELKS).
