does anyone know what software is best to make up pedigrees for your dogs

Hi Lorraine, you can use Pagemaker but I just do mine in Word or Excel. Do your heading & insert a photo if you want. The create a table with the right number of lines, fill in the dogs, the go through the table hiding all the 'box' lines you don't want. Finally add another table for the signature and date lines. It takes a while the first time, but if you save an empty template, you'll never have to do it again. Alternatively there are loads of commercial pedigree software packages around, that print pedigrees and also allow you to create a database for your own breed. None of them are too expensive. Several people here use Breed Mate, and though I prefer my own template for printing pedigrees I find the database good.

hi lorraine, i am a new member to the group but i have found a brilliant site for pedigrees where you can apply a watermark etc look really beautiful, the website is www.ibreedsystems.com and you can have a free download hope this helps, also a big hello to all the doggie lovers i am in south yorkshire i have two cocker spaniels one of which is in whelp my dogs names are jake the boy and jess the girl she is a little tired at moment getting adjusted to her pregnancy,she has such a beautiful temperament and has given us so much pleasure i keep having a look on the site and there is a lot of useful information on here well done to the owner of champdogs .
