im back :p

finished at 6am this morning, it took me a total of 6 hours 55mins (and that includes two toilets stops)   It went well, the weather stayed great and although I had a few aches on the way round it didnt really start hurting until I stopped - then I really ceased up   Had to walk 2 miles back the way I came to get the tube, and didnt get home until 10am  blooming trains

Ive had two hours sleep, a hot bath and a mummy cooked roast dinner, I also managed to take the boys out for an hour

Now im all bushed and ready for bed.

Onwards to next years challenge, ive done the moonwalk 4 years running now, time for something new I think :)

a lady last year told me that walking the moonwalk is worse than running the london marathon, you need more stamina to walk because it takes longer and you are combatting tiredness as its done at night.

I wouldnt mind doing the london marathon though ............
- By Lea Date 20.05.07 17:56 UTC
Now now dont say that to me.............
Ask Craigles!!!!!!
If you fancy doing it, join your local running club!!!!!!
I wanted to run london 9 years ago.
I am running the Great North Run in Sept and hopefully if I can get in, London in 2009 :D

Well done for the walk, daughter and I learning to run with Lea (fantastic inspiration).  Daughter is doing very well and I'm doing ok although I'll never be Kelly Holmes, my first goal is a few weeks away one hopes.  Thanks Lea for helping us!  Anybody that wants to do something can so all give it at least a go.  x

Well Done, I think that is fantastic and you should be really really proud of yourself  Hope you sleep well tonight x

Anybody in the North West fancy meeting up and maybe we could do the Great North run in 2008?  I'm thinking of doing Cani-cross when the new season starts in September also, but need to start getting fit now.  Got the trainers etc. just not the get up and go to get going :d
- By ice_queen Date 20.05.07 21:20 UTC
I know the feeling about having teh trainers but not the oompf to start.

I'm doing race for life this year and need to start training...It's only 5KM but I want to run it all.

I looked into cani-cross years ago when it first started but because I was too young to compete with adults I gave up!!! :D  (Didn't help setters don't want to run where you tell them!)
- By ClaireyS Date 21.05.07 21:27 UTC
I intended starting cani x this year, the equipment is really expensive though.  Ive found a belt thing online for £20 though which im going to buy this month I cant run my boys on normal harnesses though - they would pull me over.  I do a fair bit of running with them one on collar one on a head collar (they run in the right direction but as soon as they are off the lead they just run 2 miles ahead  ) I havent done the race for life for a few years because it always clashes with the moonwalk and I dont like to ask for 2 lots of sponsors, but to be honest unless you are one of the first to go on the race for life its so crowded you dont get much running in.
- By ice_queen Date 21.05.07 21:53 UTC
I've never had a problem with running but I do try and get to the front and have been to venues where there's plenty of space width wise.

I've always wanted to do the moonwalk but I've never had anyone to do it with and I would want someone to chat to, and therefore choose race for life.  Again I wouldn't do both because you just won't get the sponsorship.

Might search next year for the moon walk insted of race for life and if I get on with it then alternate the years.  Now who can be dragged along to compleat this with me? :D
- By ClaireyS Date 21.05.07 22:01 UTC
Our local race for life is being held in two sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon so I assume it wont be as crowded.

Give me a shout if you want to do the moonwalk next year, my friends conveniently never get a place   I usually yabber on to whoever it walking near me everyone is quite friendly and they all wear pink hats so its easy to spot fellow moonwalkers on the tube so you are never short of people to chat to.  This year I had friends and my mum phoning me right into the early hours so I was chatting on the phone for alot of it.  It is usually held on the same weekend every year.
