Hi,

My friend has a bitch in pup,due next Tuesday. Since Tuesday,past,her appetite has been diminishing to the point of virtually nothing. She has refused every tasty morsel offered. She is drinking plenty and a pup was felt moving low down in her groin.

I have not had a bitch do this and could not offer any advice to her. Has anyone else had one of their girls do anything similar?

i have a bitch that does this, she virtually starvs herself towards the end, you just have to keep tempting them but if they dont want to eat they just don't
the problem with them not eating is that when the pups are born the bitch does look half staved, they usually do it near to there due dat but i have heard of bitches being a total nightmare all the way through.
i wouldn't worry too much about it unless she seems unwell.

My bitch has just gone through that. The only thing I could get her to eat was chicken wings and mince ;) Or cat food She's now (2 weeks later) eating me out of house and home, so don't worry too much. She may not go until the due date.

my girls on her last week too, shes not as bad but shes mostly refusing her dried food, but is happily eating her chicken wings...... mince etc too
