what would you think about a husband and wife, who are involved in just one breed, both judging that breed within 4 months of each other? (giving CC's)This is a small breed rarely drawing more than 40 entries and only 9 sets of tickets a year. Any thoughts please?

I take it they are both judging once each?  I wouldn't mind to be honest.  It may be that the  husband and wife don't agree on what are the best dogs anyway.  It might effect entries but if people don't enter they'll never know ;)  I'd rather have two breed specialists judging than one BS and one all rounder.

Hi, I wouldn't mind as long as I didn't mind being Judged by them?? I suppose it depends on your opinion of their Judging?? If they're both fair and everone stands a chance of being judged impartially, well I guess it's ok?? All the best, Dawn

Wouldn't bother me!

Both myself, my dad and my grandad judge (although not CC level yet) but all 3 of us have different opinions!  We can have a discussion and not agree on the best dog although can see why eachother like that dog :)

Also know one husband and wife who once the wife judged our breed and her husband didn't agree with her at all!  He later judged and did different to her but both put up nice dogs but of different types :)

if doesnt follow that because they are married they judge the same, although if you win under the first then maybe you hope they might.

Happening in our breed this year,  my husband and I have varied opinions on different dogs so wouldn't matter to me, and I will enter under both Husband and Wife

I know several sets of husband and wife judges in my breed who judge very differenetly so the fact they are married is irrelevant.

Wouldn't worry me. I have judged (other animals) with both my current and my ex husband and we've never have the same opinion. :)

It doesn't worry me at all, I steward a lot as well as attend shows and often find that husband and wife do not agree on the dogs.

After one stewarding appointment I was asked by the show secretary to take the judge and his wife through to lunch. As we left the ring his wife was waiting right by the ring entrance and her first words were "I really can't see why you think so highly of that dog I would not have placed him first in that open class".

In my own breed there are husband and wife judges and I have never found they like the same dogs. One pair I have discovered are so far apart in their choices that if I win when the wife is judging I know I'll not be placed if exhibiting my dog when the husband is judging and vice versa.
