Topic Dog Boards / Health / Dobie wet herself
- By queenie [gb] Date 01.05.07 07:12 UTC
Does anyone have any ideas as to why my 2 year 4 month old dobie wet herself indoors last night. She seemed surprised herself when she stood up and there was a puddle. When we let her into the garden, she still managed to pass more water. She was drinking more than usual last night....maybe because of the weather.
For the rest of the evening (and this morning), there were drips whenever she stood up. Could she be going incontinent or could it be an infection? Has anyone else had something similar happen?

When was her last season, my little girl seemed to wet herself when in fact it was pyo.  If she is spayed it cant be but i would get it checked in case of an infection.

She could have cystitis or have spay incontinence if spayed.

Same thing happened to my dog.  She was asleep and completely emptied over the floor and looked confused when she woke.  Happened a couple of times and she also dripped. My dog was diagnosed as having incontinence due to having been spayed.  The incontinence started about 10 mnths after her operation.

I have to give her hormone drops in her food twice a day and this has stopped the incontinence.

As others have said though, you should get her checked out for a urine infection

Don't forget to take a water sample with you when you go to the Vets. Makes the diagnosis much quicker.

She was spayed 18 months ago, but has shown no sign of incontinence since apart from this.

Hi,
I have had this with one of my bitches it is usally a water infection.
She used to crouch so low her bits were in the floor.
Take her to the vets and get some medication.
Don't leave it to long, so it can causes other problems.
Regards
Denese
