Ahh yes, thought there was some variation on the bull thing.... nevertheless, if you then put up a sign saying beware of.... and said placid bull does one day get annoyed (even if rightly so) and frightens someone, you can be in trubble!

I tyink you can apply to redirect the footpath round the edge of the land and then fence it in so people cant get off it..... not cheap though and i believe stupidly hard to do.

I think a more effective variation on that could be a prominent board stating "X number of dogs were shot here last month due to livestock worrying" in the style of those accident blackspot notices, with one of the those cricket scoreboard type hooks to which a square with varying numbers on can be hung.  Keep the beggers on their toes make them know you mean business!
