*Waffle alert*

Over the months I've posted about all manner of minor training worries with my GR Roxy- recall, sporadic nervousness around dogs whilst on lead etc, and I just wanted to give an update. I suppose it's triggered by the fact that we were upgraded from our beginners class yesterday to the next group - a great indicator that she's becoming a really well behaved girl. She was absolutely brilliant yesterday,  being the demo dog for all the exercises -which she seemed to thoroughly enjoy. (and everyone said really lovely things about her - very, very proud)

She's now totally confident round other dogs on lead - which is half to do with me realising my axieties part to play  in her worries. (Read 'Ain't Misbehaving' which I found really useful)Anyway after about 6 months of hard work on both our parts she now walks on lead without pulling, her recall and focus on me is almost 100% (throws the requisite 1-2 duffuns per walk but she's got to admired for her spirit). She retrieves, drops, knows almost all commands at distance,  is entirely trustworthy in the house.......the list goes on. And on ;)

This is probably the most rewarding time I've had with her, I didn't know it got better and better.

Enough of my ramblings.

You read my mind.....:D

Firstly, she came into season yesterday  So we can't go back to training for a month  x 100

And secondly, she had big interest in anything dog like on her road walk last night, and was much less interested in sausages! Also got startled by the odd car which is totally new..

However, she was brilliant at lunchtime and this morning, so I think she just had an off day.

Thanks for the nice things people have said too.

Well done to you both, gives me great inspiration to carry on with biscuit and we've only had one lesson.  Sometimes we just need to both (dog and handler) be pointed in the right direction and with time, hard work and perseverence not to mention patience it can be done.  Be proud as you rightly are and I would hope to be posting a similar message in months to come x
