hi is there any way i can boost my three year old,s immune system a bit he,s got kennal cough and he,s not happy with having just that his test results have come back from the vets and is has got salmonella aswell:rolleyes: he is not fed raw the vet think,s he may have picked it up when out ie stood in something and licked his feet
any ideas on how to give his immune system a kick up the bum
he may have had the salmonella for some time the vet said .as he has had chronic colitis for so long now we should have shares in pro-kolin ha ha

A virologist told me that there is no way to actually boost the immune system, despite many claims to the contrary.  It is developed by being challenged.  He suggested that the best thing you can do is keep yourself healthy - eat well, sleep well and try to limit the amount of stress - I'm sure this would work for dogs too!

Hi, I would be inclined to feed something like Onken live Yogurt to resore his gut bacteria and also supplement with Garlic capsules and Evening Primrose oil or Star flower oil. All the best, Dawn

Ohh I'm just sorry he's going through the mill at the moment! Can't be comfortable at all...poor thing! I've always found Garlic a wondeful thing, in fact my hubby had ME and was told by a Professor to take Garlic and Cod Liver Oil. It's works for him, he's a lot better now anyways, but if someone recomended it for us, well it can only do good and no harm! I give all mine Garlic Caps, Vit C, Evening Primrose Oil, Cod Liver Oil and Zinc(for their coats and skin) all the best and I hope he feels better soon Hun. love Dawn X

Hi Hun, just get ordinary cheap Garlic capsules from the cheapo shop! Like Savers or own brands, but dont spend a lot of money on them! He can have a whole capsule, just throw it in his dinner! Try to get some Onken Live yoghurt into him 3 times a day, that'll help resolve his colitis/salmonella situation. Thanks for your nice comments about Storm...I'm sure SHE'LL be very happy to hear them!! LOL :D

Tincture of echinacea angustifolia has been used for centuries by native americans to boost the immune system
