As in supporting a judge although not actually showing under them on the day for whatever reason.

Does anyone still do this? Can anyone still afford to?!!!

Just curious.....

To be honest there's really not much point now.  Years ago, Breed clubs used to take the amount of entries into account, now it's all based on the number of dogs actually judged.

I sometimes enter a show on the offchance that I might go (rather then the ones I know I'm definitely going to) if it's a good judge, but not very often (I do it with Club shows too) - costs prohibit doing it regularly now.

I have never put in a token entry for a particular judge, however in the past I have sent in entries for local Open Shows knowing we probably wouldn't be able to make it to ensure they got an entry and kept scheduling breed classes :) I don't tend to do it much now though, as there are more of the breed around to keep the numbers up :)

It doesn't help judges but have done it for societies.
