This evening my fathers girlfriend flies over from Austria with his ashes (he died in February) and I am dreading it.  We have to see the accountant and the solicitor and his enternment is on Saturday.  I feel sick and all I want to do is cry. :(

Sending hugs to you, I lost my dad only 12 months ago and I still find it hard

Oh dear please try not to worry :)

It will not be as bad as you think it will be and I hope that you start to get some closure on what has been a very upsetting journey for you :(

Try and remember your father in happier times as I am sure he will be wanting you to smile and not cry when you think of him :)

Take care

Lucy

Thanks everyone.  Picked up Elfi  (fathers girlfriend) last night and she gave me his watches and other things which was lovely but also sad.  Off to solicitors this morning to talk about the will etc.

Thanks for all your hugs.  Making me feel much better

I hope it wasn't too awful at the solicitors. I say hold his things, stroke his picture and have a jolly good cry. Getting it out always makes me feel better. Sending another big hug to help you out.

Well the funeral was this morning and it was extremely emotional.  I am really glad it is all over but we had a good time if you know what I mean.  MY father would have loved to see us all there having a giggle and a nice meal.

Just the accountant now on Monday and then loads and loads of forms to fill in.

I feel like a big weight has been removed from my shoulders

MY father would have loved to see us all there having a giggle and a nice meal.

And that is so nice to hear - I am sure your dad would have been pleased that you were celebrating his life in such a way that you could relax and enjoy your memories of him :)
