Topic Other Boards / Foo / Help writing a testimonial....

Hi All :)

I need to write a testimonial for our dog walker.  She has only recently gone into business as a dog walker and as we were one of her first clients, she has asked me to write a few words for her website.

I have no idea where to start   What sort of thing would you like to see written by another client if you were researching a dog walker?

All thoughts and ideas welcome :)

1.   Her reliability
2.   Her affinity to the dogs
3.   Her reporting back to me any incident/funny little thing/etc
4.   Her insurance
5.   The number of dogs she walks at one time

Hope that helps

I agree with all that Loki's mum has said but would also like to see some comments about how you feel leaving her in charge of your dogs. I remember your original post when you were looking for a dog sitter and how desperate you were to make sure you had found the right person to look after your dogs so I think it would be great to perhaps write about  a few of your worries and then how this particular sitter allayed all your fears.

I would also put a little bit in about how long you have had dogs yourself in order that prospective clients know that the opinions you give are from the point of view of a responsible dog owner rather than someone who finds they no longer have time for their dogs. It gives more weight to your testimony. I haven't put that very well but hope you understand what I mean :)

Thank you both :) That's given me some food for thought.

I actaully never thought I would find someone that I would trust with my dogs but we really have found one in a million :).  She sussed what makes each dog tick very quickly and tailors their exercise/training/play to the needs of each dog, taking into account Shay's bad days with his dodgy leg.  She always leaves us a little note to say what they've been doing that day and where they went as well as her obsevations of how slow/lame (or not) Shay seemed.  In short, she's perfect :D

Sounds like you've got plenty to write.  She sounds ideal!

Ok, this is what I've come up with....any thoughts/comments/suggestions gratefully received :)

When work pressures increased and it became unavoidable to work longer hours on some days, we decided to look for a dog-walker to make sure that our dogs didn't suffer as a result.

At first we weren't sure that we would ever find someone suitable as we have two large dogs that are not always the easiest to handle due to their sheer size and strength.  However,   Liz has proven to be more than a match for our two hooligans!

Liz worked out what makes our dogs tick very quickly.  One of our dogs can be very wary of strangers and does not always take to new people but Liz has won him over completely.  She tailors their exercise/play to the needs of each dog which is especially important for us as one of our dogs has arthritis and can have bad days when he is very lame.  Liz takes this into account and always leaves us a little note to say what they've been up to and comment if he seemed particularly slow or lame.

In short, Liz has been a godsend for us.  She is reliable, dependable and has gone out of her way to help us out when we have needed it.  We have total confidence in her and we know that our dogs are in safe hands while they are in her care.   Most importantly, our dogs love her and that's recommendation enough for us.

ROFL @ HG.  The world would be in an even sorrier state if I were in politics :D :D

Thank you for your comments guys.  Are you sure it's not too OTT though?

Its truthful and accurate so of course its not too OTT. As others have said, anyone would be over the moon with a reference like that and you can tell that you mean every word too, so you obviously wouldn't make a good politician :D :D (even they don't believe a word of what they say  :D LOL)
