Topic Dog Boards / Showing / Hound Ass of Scotland Champ Show 14th April
- By bertbeagle [gb] Date 05.04.07 22:33 UTC
Hi,

Does anybody know if the entry figures in this Dog World for the Hound Ass Champ show are correct?

All of them seem very low including my own breed which really surprised me and I wondered if they had a problem with not receiving entries by post and have missed a load.

Has anybody heard anything like that? I have my passes and got them atleast a week ago so they have mine.

Many thanks

Is this compared to previous years figures or just in general?  Scottish shows usually ahve lower entries because they are not centrally located.

The figures are v confusing and not correct, I know because I am judging there and the number the Sec says I have is not the number in DW. Funny they have a lot to say when anyone else gets it wrong. I have a feeling that the numbers are dog and bitch seperately, but no more than a feeling!

Hi,

Bazb, that makes perfect sense I think that they have listed Dogs and Bitches seperately! As on one of the breeds it has 0/11 and you can't have 0 dogs making 11 total! Thankyou!

Well my breed has a fantastic entry as expected, I just hope the weather stays nice as I believe last year the weather was awful for this show. Will take winter woolies aswell!

Enjoy your Judging. :)

Is "houndAss not a strange word for a dog show?  Do the hounds have to have nice arses to compete ;)

Hound Association Ktee :D   (Although I've always thought Borzois have lovely hindquarters)

This is the funny thing in any pastime job etc you get things abbreviated and you very quickly forget that other people won't have a clue what it all means, when it seems so obvious to those involved.

When I first got into showing dogs I had terrible trouble with the abbreviations for the sexes.

I used to show Rabbits and 'B' was short for Buck (male and 'D' short for Doe (female), and in canines it is 'B' for Bitch (female) and 'D' for Dog (male).

Fortunately a lot of the class abbreviations were similar.
