Hi all,

I know this has probably been covered hundreds of times but i am desperately hacked off with trying to find insurance!! I have been quoted quite cheap at £69 a month with More than for 4 dogs but the £7000 payout is for the life of the illness and any thereafter is payable by me.  Well a friend with the same breed has had a bill for £6,500 for one operation and to risk having a limit i would rather not!

Anyway can anyone advise which are the best ones?

Many thanks in advance

I use M&S for 1 of mine, £7000 each year for life of illness (use morethan for the other dog :( )

I use Pet Plan for all of mine.  It costs me an arm and a leg every month but I think it's worth it.  They'll keep paying out year after year for the same condition.  I think the amount they'll go up to each year depends on the level of cover you choose.  I've at least broken even with my monthly payments and claims as one of mine has cost them a huge amount of money over the last few years - she's the unluckiest dog I've ever owned.

Sainsburys!  £15 per month for one Affie Hound.  I have used alot of Sainsburys financial products - even a mortgage (done on line) and they are always brilliant.  I have recently submitted a claim form for them - my vet says he has very good experiences of them.  Watch this space, will advise on how our claim goes.  Oh, and it covers per condition too.

We have two with M&S but one with Direct Line, we are not happy with them.  It has been 7 weeks since a claim went in and it still hasn't been paid.  My vet has been really good but 8 weeks is a bit long.  I have called them and they said it would be 8 weeks, how bad is that....I shall try and get her with M&S, when it is time to renew as Direct Line have gone down the pan in my view.

the M&S policy seems the slightly better one (not had to claim as yet- fingers crossed)
