Hi,
Could somebody elaberate as to weather a breed with no cc's being awared at a champ show still qualifies for crufts in there breed class if they come first. second or third?

Thanks in advance:cool:

If the breed is a CC breed then no the wins are classed as Open show wins.

So no CC's awarded at the show for say boxers, and if placed third you dont qualify for crufts even if a chufts qualifier show? Correct?

yes :)

Correct.
For example:
Three Counties is a Crufts Qualifying Champ show, but Leonbergers have no CC's available there so placed first, second or third won't qualify them for Crufts :(

I don't understand - my breed has no CC's at any shows yet but still quailfies for Crufts at these shows?
- By ClaireyS Date 03.04.07 22:26 UTC
thats because your breed doesnt have CC's at all, its the breeds that do have CC's that cant qulaify if there arent any on offer.

Ah right. All very confusing for a novice like me, still have a lot to work out! I think we can qualify for Crufts just by entering a Champ show cos usually there are less than 3 of the breed anyway so we all get placed!!

Thank you thats clarified things for me

It depends also on what stud band your breed is placed in.
As some only a first prize in open qualifies for Crufts see the KC stud bands here

You then have to double check the Crufts qualifications bit which is normally published on the Crufts
website, it does change so it's worth checking the criteria each year.

Bath Ch show for example, Boxers don't have CC's so therefore
you won't qualify for Crufts, it's just an expensive open show for the breed ;)

>it's just an expensive open show for the breed<

 Never thought of it that way

I know - it's quite frightening really isn't it!

:D Saying that I'm thinking of doing an expensive non CC Ch show..LOL

As we only have 18 sets of CC's we have a lot of champ shows that are just open shows, and some don't even give us classes.
