Hi (sorry about the content)

Keeper (TT) will be 1 next month and just recently he has started to have runny poos, not all the time.  He will have a normal poo a couple of times but seems to want to get every little bit out of him and it starts getting runnier and runnier (its not unusual right now for him to have about 6 poos when i take him out)

Im new to dogs and wasnt sure if it has anything to do with him now needing a different food from puppy food.  He is fed at the moment on a mixture of Eukanuba and Autarky (dry foods) and has never had a problem before.  He is also due his worming tablet in a couple of weeks..........dont know if it has anything to do with it.

Any advice greatfully received

Thanks

Karen

That sounds like my boys. They improved dramatically when I lowered the amount and type of protein in their diet.

You could try changing him onto adult food now, gradually mixing it in  :)

Why do you mix two different dried foods, if you don't mind me asking?

Hiya Missie

When i first got Keeper, i fed him on just Eukanuba and for the first few months he was great.  Then he started turning his nose up and would carry on doing this for a couple of days.........anyhow i was in Tescos one day and noticed Autarky (which i had read was a decent food) so i bought it and mixed a little in with the Eukanuba and he wolfed it down......i prob use 80% Euk and 20% Aut.

ah right :)

I used to feed autarky when they had kibble, I think it was the only dried food they didnt turn their noses up at :)

Hope you get his 'runs' sorted soon though

have you upped the amount of food recently because of his age as sometimes just that little bit too much food can have an affect on their toileting routine.
Add a little bit of live yoghurt to his food .

Hi Roni

Nope, i havent upped his food, i was gonna wait until he's been the vets and got weighed and got his new adult food. Hmm.........mysterious eh?

To be honest I would take him off Eukanuba and just feed him Autarky! I rate Autarky and Nutro, but would give Ekanuba a wide berth...this has already been discussed on other threads, so do a search to find out WHY we don't like Eukanuba! lol All the best, Dawn

Ahhhh but newfiedreams 3 of my dogs thrive on eukanuba! ;)  We had to take them off Nutro as it didn't suit them :)  Therfore if something suits a dog don't change it.

However OP, I think it's time to change to an adult diet for your dog :)  His mature enough at a year for his size to be changed to an adult food :)
