I have a beautiful labrador bitch who is in her first season now. She is just ten months old and has a fantastic loving temperament. My question is though she is a full pedigree I do not have a hip or eye score for her. I would love to breed from her when she is older and keep a puppy but would a stud dog owner mind that she does not have the hip and eye score. She also has a tiny patch of white hair on her tail does this matter?

At 10 months old you have plenty of time to get her hip scored and eye tested before she’s old enough to be mated. Also you'll need to sort out a stud dog. Your breeder should be able to give you guidance there plus maybe a trip to a show, preferably a reasonably large one so you can study the dogs, see what you like then chat the owner and see if the pedigrees will go together nicely. Once you have done your homework you will then be in a position to decide whether to go ahead when she’s old enough.
