I mated a toy breed bitch on the 19th/21st Feb.
She has gone off her food-I do realize is quite common if they have caught although she was never really been into food-enought to survive.
I have tempted her with everything. She has taken the smallest of portions from the dish or none at all-we are now six days in to all this. She is drinking-not to excess and has had a small spoonfull of honey and warm water.
She seems quite happy although she wants to stand under the table and shiver when she sees the food being prepared.
have you tried some fish and rice or fresh cooked mince I know you shouldnt with the salt but in desperation you could add home made gravy over her food. she may at the is point be feeling a bit sick so try feeding her later on in the evening I had the opposite problem my girl wanted to eat us out of house and home.
One of my girls from 4 weeks onwards only ate 1 or 2 chicken wings per day, nothing more. She was checked out quite a few times by my vet and he said she was fit and well.
We tried absolutely everything, but she would sniff it and walk away. She had a lovely healthy litter.
What is worth a try is ONKENS ORGANIC CULTURE YOGURT...irresistable and tends to get the gut moving and promote appetite quite well. Especially useful if suffering from a runny tummy as it helps create good culture in the gut...just worth a thought and try??? All the best, Dawn
