hi all
went to the eye hospital today and i have been given dog eye drops to put into my eye this is what it says

OPTIMMUNE EYE OINTMENT CYCLOSPORIN A 2mg

Note: This product is licensed as an animal medicine. It is not licensed for human use but has beer
Manufactured to the same exacting standards as required for licensed human medicines. Your eye doctor is aware of this, but feels your condition warrants the use of this medication.

Hi Loraine,
Cyclosporin is used for dogs whose tear glands are no longer producing tears. They usually use it with together with other aids.

well i am using that along with 3 others eye drops

i have a severe disease in my eye and so fair nothing has worked so i will give it a go

Hi all
well i tryed the new eye drops last night for the first time and it did not seem to do anything bad to me
but can i ask what the A means after the name cyclosporin A does anyone now

Hi Lorraine,

The other half and I are both ophthalmologists, and Ian did research on cyclosporin A some years ago, so if you want to write to me privately about your eye problem we might be able to give you some ideas about what is going on.
