I've just noticed that there seems to be a long largest chip off the back of my dog fang. Is there anything I should do? I don't want her to get decay! She is due to be spayed July time, do you think it can wait until she 'under' so the vet can treat as necessary
Thanks

they will not do teeth at the same time as the spaying incase of an infection from the mouth to the blood,

only know about human teeth but here goes,if it is just a chip from the enamel,it wont hurt,it would be unusual though as emanel is such a hard substance, but small defects can occur making it weaker,if it is,them hopefully the vet can just smooth it over if its sharp,or it will smooth over in time by itself.
If this chip goes into the dentine under the enamel,it can be sensitive, but dentine will try to defend itself, laying down more  cells and harden, the pulp chamber beneath which contains the nerves and blood supply will shrink back as the dentine tries to protect the nerve,it will probably turn brown, but,if you keep it clean it might be ok.
Dont know if that helps, because I want to say a small white filling will do the trick, but of course,in dogs?
