i was told by the breeder not to wash callie ,if i had to only dry shampoo and very rairly as it makes her coat go funny. but she plays with the sprinkler and loves water and i dont want to spoil her enjoyment ,will plain water ruin her coat

Funny that .... My Kali had a total aversion to water but since reaching her teenage years I can not keep her out of the bathroom !!! lol

I think what your breeder was getting at was not to 'wash' meaning to use shampoo's on your dog unless absolutely necessary. Water for playing with or swimming will not do your dog ANY harm. It might make her a bit scurfy, so maybe avoid it if you have a show planned. Apart from that ....just let her enjoy it :-)
