I have tried breed rescue but no avail!........i was wondering if anyone here knows of a breeder who may want to rehome an older dog/bitch to a fabulous home in Guernsey.A lady who is one of my sisters friends had just lost hers after a long [ and very expensive ] illness, she is totaly distraught, she lives alone and her dog was her life. She doesnt want a puppy really but would love to offer a perhaps retired breeding bitch or dog or one that didnt make the grade for showing, she's not looking for a free dog and obviously will be more than happy to pay all the travel costs anyway......if anyone thinks they may be able to point me in the right direction to help i'd be most grateful
cheers

Have a word here.  http://www.charneykennels.co.uk/breeding.htm  Steph is heavily involved with the Jap Spitz world and will know of any adults available. :)

I just happened to be here and I worked at Steph's grooming school more than 20 years ago and so I know her passion for the breed. :)

Do me very careful with pet breeders.  The often don't have knowledge of what's behind their dogs and you end up with a liability and not an asset for a companion. :(

Sorry, another thought - you could ask the breed note writers to put something in the papers?

Perhaps the breed club could put something on their web site asking if anyone has anything? Sometimes people are considering letting them go, and might be swayed for such a nice home.
