Hya all
Probably a question thats been asked a million times, but my search button thingy won't play ball :(
I am currently insured with E & L and over the weekend I've been hearing some horrendous stories from fellow dog owners about them, especially their inability to pay up when they should, customer service etc. So I am now in a hurry to change to a different company, but which one? Does anyone have any good recommendations? :)

Thanks

Have a search on the forum for info about E&L, most people wouldn't touch them.

My 6 are all insured with Pet Plan.  It costs me an arm and a leg, but is worth it to me for peace of mind.  They are not cheap but I've found them to be very good ie, they pay up and will cover an illness for the life of the dog.

Hi
Mine are with M&S. Have made a couple of claims and have found them to settle bills quickly and customer service to be very helpful.

I am unfortunately with E & L, and have been waiting ages to hear about a claim- I shall be changing to another company as soon as I can.

I have two of mine with M&S, and one with Direct Line, just claimed on the DL one and they said it may take up to 8 weeks to process.....

Mine is with Direct Line, they paid the vet direct with no problems.

Mine are with Direct Line and they have been extremely efficient, so hopefully they're just telling you a 'worst case'.

I do hope so, they are paying the vet direct so there shouldn't be any problem.
Never had to claim before so this was a new thing.

Esure are one of the cheapest we found plus they cover you for things like flea infestation of your house http://www.esure.com/es_pet_cover_options.htm works out about £22 per month for our 3 springers

Watch M&S, and possibly other insurers, as my policy changed from zero excess to 15% of the total bill paid and no claims under 75 pounds just because my dog got to 7 years of age.  I'm now looking at Halifax who seem to offer a good deal, have whole of life, no age limit and 50 pounds excess for about 15 pounds per month.
