"Find out when to see the BBC highlights of the biggest dog show in the world"
Is that just a tad exagerated....

Is what exagerated?  That it's the biggest dog show in the world?  That is fact actually :)

really  i wouldnt have thought so
*hides!*
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 24.02.07 16:28 UTC
Yep! There are more dogs entered at Crufts than at any other show in the world. :)
- By Soli Date 24.02.07 16:38 UTC
LOL Fiona :d

Just to put it into perspective for you:

This year the total entry for Crufts is 22,320 dogs over the four days.

The Westminster show in America (touted as the American Crufts) had an entry of 2,500 dogs last month ;)

So yeah... it's a bit on the large side :d

It's not often we beat them for biggest and best is it ;)  Be different if they held it in Texas probably :D
- By f.a.brook [gb] Date 24.02.07 23:09 UTC
its amazing how such a small country can hold the worlds biggest show
:O

Does anybody know if it's that Ben Fogle person presenting it again this year?
- By Paula20380 [us] Date 26.02.07 13:24 UTC
As far as I know yes
- By Lokis mum [gb] Date 26.02.07 13:26 UTC
Looks like it
- By Goldmali Date 26.02.07 13:44 UTC
At least Clare Balding is back co-presenting this year. But Fogle Jr should be gagged as far as I'm concerned -he's good to look at but that's all.
- By Soli Date 26.02.07 14:23 UTC
Bring back Richard Hammond!! that's what I say :d

Fogle should stick to what he does best - whatever that may be - it's not Crufts that's for sure!  He made a right numpty of himself AND the showing world last year.

Here here!!!!! :D

At least when he did take the micky out of crufts he aid the truth "it's more like a trade show" :D
- By Isabel Date 26.02.07 14:29 UTC
Looks like I'll have him all to myself :)
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 26.02.07 14:33 UTC
Please do! ;) Take him away to a quiet corner and keep him occupied while someone who knows what they're talking about presents the programmes! :D :D
- By Annie ns Date 26.02.07 14:37 UTC
I'd like to be associated with the last plea! :D  I think he is useless too.
- By Lokis mum [gb] Date 26.02.07 15:41 UTC
Yes - hes just PBNB!!

pretty boy - no brain ;)
- By Isabel Date 26.02.07 15:44 UTC
Surely that is better than many of the previous presenters that could not deliver in either department :D
- By Goldmali Date 26.02.07 16:08 UTC
I know, let's press the mute button when he's on!! :D :D
- By Isabel Date 26.02.07 16:09 UTC
Yes, I don't mind doing that if it makes you lot happy :)
- By Lokis mum [gb] Date 26.02.07 16:12 UTC
What a hero, Isabel :D - what a sacrifice to make for the sake of other CD'ers sanity :D :D :D

(Just keep him in that corner - in a crate if necessary, and feed him sweeties :D :D :D)

Oh, goody :)  I don't believe in all that sins of the father stuff ;)
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 26.02.07 13:33 UTC
Nor do I, but he was rubbish last year! :(
- By Isabel Date 26.02.07 13:36 UTC
I thought he was a very good studio man.  The real dog people are there for the informing side of things but they do not always make good presenters.
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 26.02.07 13:44 UTC
He's very good with scripts (when he wears his glasses ;)), but he can't ad lib, and he hadn't even researched breed names. I thought his presentation last year was very amateur.
- By Isabel Date 26.02.07 13:48 UTC
I appreciate I have some bias ;) but I didn't notice any of that.  To me he just came across as a real lover of dogs but with no special expertise :)  Which I suspect is typical of most of the viewers.
- By Goldmali Date 26.02.07 13:52 UTC
I have to agree with JG, it was cringe making that he couldn't even get breed names right.
- By Jeangenie [gb] Date 26.02.07 14:13 UTC Edited 26.02.07 14:16 UTC
Surely a presenter of a speciality programme should have some expertise, though? Imagine Wimbledon being presented by someone who hasn't played tennis since he left junior school, or me commentating on a football match!  The presenter's meant to be explaining what's happening to those who don't know. Last year it was the blind leading the blind.
- By munrogirl76 Date 02.03.07 16:46 UTC
I read in some breed notes in one of the dog papers that it was Clare Balding... hope so!

Oh I see there's Ben Fogle as well..... how intensely irritating. Richard Hammond and Jessica Holm were both much better IMO.
- By ice_queen Date 26.02.07 14:12 UTC
 oh dear fee didn't you know that :P :D you do now!
- By Lissie-Lou [gb] Date 26.02.07 20:22 UTC
Oh nooo......don't think he's even good to look at, let alone listen to!
- By Annie ns Date 26.02.07 20:39 UTC
Sounds like Isabel has him all to herself. :D
- By Isabel Date 26.02.07 20:58 UTC
- By Lissie-Lou [gb] Date 26.02.07 21:42 UTC
Oh please Isabel....take him away!! :-D
- By LucyD [gb] Date 04.03.07 09:10 UTC
I agree, keep Clare, get rid of the Fogle brat!! :-D
