Can someone help me? I was at a show recently - only my lad and another pup in the graduate class - and a third pup in the open (there were no other classes for our breed). I got 1st and the winner of open got BOB. Then the lady with the two pups bought one into the ring - would that have had to have been the pup shown in open that I had not beaten. I thought it was but something was said to make me wonder otherwise. Thanks.
If there was more than one dog in open, which I take it there was, then if the 'open' dog gets BOB the judge can bring in the 2nd placed dog from open to challenge the others in the unbeaten dog line up for the RBOB. Reserve can go to the dog in the next class down from open, but the 2nd placed dog in the same class that had the winner in can be brought in - Is that what you mean?
The pup from open that came 3rd came back in? This would be because it was classed as an unbeaten puppy so could get BPIB :) Is this what you mean? Your post isn't that clear! :)
Thanks Missy and Icequeen. Yes, it was an unbeaten pup that must have come in. I thought that until someone said 'not sure which pup she bought back in' and then I got confused  Sorry I found it a bit difficult to explain in wirting. But I know the judge was considering giving me BPIB and her RBOB and was told she couldn't so I got both
Thats weird the judge thought you had the better puppy but not the better dog Don't think he/she knew what she was doing!
Saying that, had a club show last year and I took in RBB to challenge for RBIS and the judge gave the dog RBIS and tried to give me BOSIS, thing was it was the bitch that went BIS....I think he ment to give them the other way round but hey nevermind!
Actually Icequeen - you are right she didn't know much. To be honest much of her earlier judging was not great until it came to us - and everyone said she made good choices. Indeed the other two pups just didn't show well and people watching said my lad deserved his win as did the dog in open.
