anything about Arimidex?
My mum has just been put on this for breast cancer and is having a terrible problem with joint pains - she says she feels like she has been battered with sticks. So does anyone know if these side effects wear off or if you can do anything to alleviate them? She is going to persevere for another few days then phone the Breast cancer nurse if there is no change, but CD'ers always seem to have some experience of most things so if anyone can help that would be great.

Arimidex is a newer version of Tamoxifen and is for post -menopausal women.

Thanks
Marion

I found an active clinical study that is looking at joint pain in women on this drug. You can find the information and some contacts on this page. Anastrozole is Arimidex if you wonder. You could try emailing the contacts to ask about their results.

Thanks everyone, my mum read the stuff from the Cancer back up page and decided to up her pain killers( she already takes some for arthritis). She wasn't sure if she should until she read the article but she is feeling much much better now.

hope your mum feels better soon
thanks Anna, her cancer was caught very early fortunately so everything is really belt and braces, her surgeon was very positive and she starts radiotherapy in a couple of weeks, so we are all crossing fingers and toes that it keeps going well !

Lori- will have a look at that link, thanks
