This is all getting way out of hand with the disrespect of other peoples views before we know it world war three will be here.
for all of your information i have got my breeder coming down to examine the girl, and if she feels she needs a vet then she will be first in the cue.
I really thought it would be nice to share and get advice from this forum, but it seems you all have different views and are clashing It feels like I am back at school, I am a grown women and respcet everyones advice that has been given, but lets not all fall out over it.
I am worrying now, not because my girl is screaming out in pain, i,l high temp etc, she not shes asleep charging her batteries, temp is good etc I am scared of this forum!!!:mad:

my bitches have been with the rest of family dogs up to the birth.walking and feeding together, luckly my bitch know what a whelping box for and settle down in it when they are realy to give birth away in a different from from the other dogs and when the bitch is realy to go with the other dogs i let her this time it was 24 hour after the birth so she could go out for a walk with the rest of the gang.

>My breeder says it may have been her waters breaking on Monday or it could have been her anal glands

I have heard (but thankfully not experienced!) that there is no mistaking the smell of anal glands emptying - and people usually describe it rather more strongly than weird.

Not to belittle the breeder of your bitch, but I assume she is on the end of the phone rather than available in person? For myself, as well as obvious concern for the bitch, I'd rather someone experienced actually examined her to see if there are indeed any puppies to come or if it's a phantom - better that than hang around on tenterhooks until Friday!

Edited to add that, like all posters on this forum, I hope everything goes swimmingly and you end up with a healthy bitch and healthy puppies. Please don't be scared of this forum, you will not find a better place for advice and support.

I can't do any harm for the vet to scan or listen to the foetal heartbeat to check that the puppy or pups are doing OK.

>she was wet all around her back end

This worries me. Full anal glands, when expressed, don't have nearly enough liquid to cause this much wetness - maybe half a teaspoonful at most - and it's coloured, not like water.

She might have wet herself, but why would that make her howl? To be honest, if she were mine, I'd be at the vet now. I can't help thinking of the bitch owner in the practice who was happy that her bitch was getting on with labour after her waters had broken, but sadly she waited too long. I sincerely hope this isn't the case here.

Good luck.
