I wondered as they seem very similar to me.

Im thinking of starting something like this with my GSD as he loves obedience and agility.

There are great differences between Schutzhund & UK WT.

Apart from the initial BH test there is protection work in all parts of Schutzhund-in WT it is only in PD

There actual exercises are all standardised in Schutzhund, no judge is allowed to change any part(like the heelwork or track patterns)-in WT the heelwork is down to the judge as is the actual lay out of the track & heelwork

The agility in Schutzhund includes retrieve over the jumps-WT doesn't

There are no mass stays in Schutzhund they have"honour"stays ie one dog does it's down stay whilst the next dog works-in WT all stays are done as a mass exercise with all the dogs doing them together

There is a gun test in all Schutzhund & the dogs are actually working during two gun tests(one in heelwork & one in the stay)

Schutzhind requires control much more than the lower levels of WT
