Topic Dog Boards / Showing / eye testing at Crufts

Has anyone tried to book a slot for eye testing?  If so did they manage?

I got my 'flyers' from the KC advertising eye testing, so I duly phoned up and was amazed to get through first time.  Only to be told all were full.  Apparently they only have 25 slots per day.  What's the use of sending flyers to many thousands of exhibitors when they only have 100 slots in total!!!

I was gobsmacked - even offerred to pay but to no avail.

Must be just a token gesture, how silly, a huge show like crufts should have loads of slots for eye testing, even if they have to charge.

I rang near lunchtime on Monday and managed to get my Cardigan Corgi in for the eye test on the Friday afternoon.

It took me about 15 minutes to get through even then and the lady I spoke to said the phone rings all the time once they open up the lines.

I tried last year and was told they were all booked so didn't try this year.  There are quiet often eye tests at other shows but you have to pay.  Ours was £37 last year.

I had the same problem last year, except it was worse as I didn't get my passes (you needed your ring number to book) until after the cut of date for bookings.  the passes are sent out in batches, and those whose were sent later were never going to be able to qualify for the eye tests.
