Moose has been coughing now for about 1/2 hour. It is like she has something stuck in her throat rather than KC type cough. I have had a good look in her mouth and throat but can't really see very far down.

Any suggestions ? She is getting a little bit wound up about it and keeps pacing up and down ?

They had porks ribs for breakfast but that was at least 4 hours ago so don't think that would be the cause ?

One of my dogs had kennel cough once Lucy and it sounded more like she was retching than coughing so sounds similar to what you're saying.

Sounds like a trip to the vets would be a good idea if she doesn't stop soon.  Hope she's soon OK. 

I have had all my lot come down with KC before but this seems slightly different.

She has settled down a bit now so will keep an eye on her :)

A friend of mine recommends giving a piece of bread to a dog (or child) which sems to have something stuck in its throat - apparently it "coats" the item so it travels through smoothly and out the other end... 

Yes, I've known vets recommend a piece of bread with honey on it to soothe the throat.

Thats is the sort of thing I was thinking about :) Will have a go in a bit once I have found the jar of honey which is hidden in the back of a cupboard somewhere :rolleyes:
