Hi needing just a little advice here.
My bitch has thrown up 3 times between the end of last week, night being the last time shortly after she ate.so far today she has been fine. she seems in pretty good form, So it seems to be every few days. I rang my vet after the first time and asked why this could be happening, i spoke to the veterinary nurse who told me that some bitches experience morning sickness.
I have been speeding her meals out between day and night; her puppies are due just under two weeks. She doesn't seem to be sick, i wasn't worried that there was something wrong with her, ive been reading the topics on this site for some time now. And have already read a topic asking should you change your dog's diet. I also sent away for an e-book in that it said to change the bitches' diet to the puppy version 2 weeks before the puppies are born. Going by what most people had written i had settled my mind that i was just going to leave her diet as it was but just to increase the amounts.
But now am wondering if i have made the right decision? She has eaten this brand all her life from puppy to adulthood. And we have never had a problem. So is it indeed morning sickness at this later stage of her pregnancy. or would it be a good idea to give her the puppy version of this brand?
I would be very grateful in peoples opinions with this subject as I don't want to upset her tummy any more than it seems to be.but want to do what is best for her and her puppies.
p.s == she is a small breed i dont know if this has any bearing on the out come.

Some breeders recommend that you change over to puppy around this period I was advised by my breeder mentor not to until puppies are born which is what I did and everything turned out fine . I found my girl was sickly periodically so I gave her more feeds but smaller quantities I think its because the puppies take up more room so smaller meals are much more comfortable for her.

THANK YOU STARRYEYES
The stud dog owner has also said that he too changes the food once the puppies have been born.

Personally, after my first litter when I had not increased amounts, and the bitch flatly refused to eat in the last week of her prgnancy, I gradually increase amounts of protein once I know the bitch is pregnant (but I have always had large litters). I follow what the bitch tells me she needs. With that first litter, it took longer for milk to come in and my girl was thin for the first couple of weeks after the arrival of the pups.
