Two Australian shepherd BAD girls......(Loki & Vinnie) - who, having been put in the utility room for no more than 20 minutes, have succeeded in OPENING the washing machine, pulling out the clean washing - and, to add insult to injury - proceeded to chew up three fleeces (one of them with the Aussie logo on, too!):rolleyes::rolleyes:

Why do they do it?????   I know - to prove what clever girls they are!

must be something in the air my rottie dennis was in my kitchen for only 10 mins last week and got my 90 quid glasses of my kitchen top and ate them 10 mins before i was taking him out in the car mind u he did bring to me with one lens in ha ha off to speck savers this week.

How old are they?  Is there no hope of dogs ever growing out of chewing things up?  My Meg is allowed into the house far more now - she is sitting nicely down in the hall as I write (I hope) She is very partial to taking odd socks, my granddaughter's toys or pens and bits and bobs that fall to the floor.  She did raid the pot pourri on a corner table the other week.  We always know when she has something because she heads out to the utility room.  At nearly 2 years old we were hoping there would be an end to it sometime. Your dogs were very clever opening the machine - that is not the sort of thing that happens by accident really - like knocking open the fridge door (our last dog did that but didn't know how he had done it)  I can see now that you are going to have to get to the machine before them in the future - you won't be able to set the machine and go out.

They are both old enough to know better:rolleyes:

Loki (mum) is 7 years old......daughter Vinnie (Venus in Blue Jeans :rolleyes:) is now 4.    

They are now both sulking (still in the utility room because they know they are In Disgrace) whilst the others are rolling around the kitchen/lounge.

They were only in there because they were a tad muddy from their walk.........:rolleyes:

They obviously thought they would clean themselves up so they could get back into the house faster ;-)  My mother used to dog sit a friend's Westie who would hate anyone to touch his underparts but would quite happily roll on the towel if you put it on the floor and told him to clean himself!

I'll swap you for my little angel Aussie, Margot :D I can guarantee that she is perfectly behaved in the house - just don't let her near any joggers or unsuspecting teenage boys :( :( (She is in disgrace this week after having been good for a long while :( )

Yes, Karen, you are right, Loki is the god (or in this case the goddess of mischief).........well, we were carrying on with the Norse Gods - and Thor (the god of Thunder) is an absolute Angel!!

Daisy - maybe I'll borrow her......after having suffered from motorcyclists over the pits for absolute ages (culminating in the sad death of a youngster at the end of last year) - we are now having a rash of quad bikers - so the more Aussies to round'em up might be good!!! (And I don't care HOW many Tara goes for......reprehensible I know - but they've been REALLY aggrevating today!!

My darling little puppy ate half a tub of plumbing sealant yesterday :rolleyes: - think she may have thought it was a tasty 'dip' for the bits of concrete I am constantly fishing out of her mouth whilst building work continues.

I'd like to think she'll grow out of it, but if Loki and Vinnie are anything to go by ...

Oh boy are dogs sods. One of mine at the weekend chewed one of my new black Clarks sandels that I have been breaking slowly in for 4 weeks. I haev just got them perfect and one is distroyed :-)  air was blue.   I felt like smack every bottom with it :-D

I know I shouldnt giggle Margot...but oh the vision of your two washerwomen extraordinaire did give me a much needed good old chortle!! :D

I almost gave up hope of finding a single sock in the house without a hole in it a little while ago but then I had a brain wave.

I threw most of them away, bought 18 pairs of identical black socks - so no worries if she steals and shreds one.

Margot - you wouldn't believe but it is catching.  Meg was very quiet tonight - I thought she was in the lounge with my husband - he didn't think about where she was at all.  I was busy studying my new mobile phone.  I got up to look for dog and there she was chewing the corner of our lovely rug that we bought back from Azerbaijan - I think I have to go and sit in the utility room too - in disgrace - she is my dog after all.
