Hi all

My daft 15month old Marley and his equally daft mates were just playing an extreme case of running around together, barking their heads off having a good ol' play, when I heard a bang, spun around to find Marley whining a bit and staggering from side to side :eek: He recovered in less than 20 seconds and now seems fine, I've come to the conclusion that he must have whacked his head on the door frame during the crazy play - would others agree with this??
He's fine, just sitting there thinking "why does she keep hugging me? Get off me ya daft mare - I wanna play again!"
I, on the other hand, am only just about recovering from the shock/panic/worry etc etc :D :D

Oh poor you!

I suspect youre right. Mine does this kind of thing regularly. When he was a pup he tried to say hello to another dog but didnt see the fence between them and ran into it, sliding down it like a cartoon character. More recently, he ran into a huge 2 foot wide  metal pillar housing CCTV and I couldnt believe he just got up and kept running! Daft arent they? They know how to worry us!

Im sure it frightened him more than anything but he might have a bit of a headache. He probably hit the side of his face/head. Have a look in his mouth to check for damaged teeth/bitten tongue and have a look at his eyes to make sure he is focussing and 'with it'. Sometimes they can get blood blisters on the white of the eyeball after a nasty bash, they normally go down on their own though. Have a good feel of his head for lumps and bumps and if he seems ok I wouldnt worry too much, especially as he seems ok in himself.

After all that, pour yourself a large glass of wine and calm down. If you have cause for worry in the morning, give the vet a call.If nothing else it will put your mind at rest.

Thanks Caroline,

Did, as ordered, pour myself a large glass of wine (rarely need much of an excuse :D ). I've checked him over and all seems well - doesn't appear to have learned his lesson and is now back careering around like a maniac once again! Got an extra piece of chicken tonight anyway :D :D

Thanks again

Lins xx :)

Dogs have heads like bullets!

Never, ever forget my mum's terrier and her alpha Cocker running and playing the Cocker ran straight into her from a distance at top speed whaking her right in the head, (have you seen the boxing matches where the boxers heads are in slow motion after a punch, that is just what it was like to watch.)
She was completely dazed, I ran over to pick her up and sat her on my knee thinking she would be disorientated, but no she jumped off me walked off swaying but 2 seconds later was running around again, if that were me I would probably be unconscious they are just amazing. :-)
