For Christmas a doggy friend bought us a game to test your dogs level of intelligence. There are various tests to complete and a timer is provided to see how long your dog takes to solve problems and also it tests thier short and long term memory.
So while Shady has had to stay in because of the kennel cough and was getting very bored, I got it out and tried it on her. I was totally blown away at how bright she is and she passed every test under the minimum time so scored maximum points on everything.
So I decided to try teaching her some dance routines, Now she is a very big heavy Rottie x GSD so probaly not graceful and I have never done it before, but every move she picked up within seconds and within two 5 min sessions she was doing a small routine of different moves with no hesitation.
We start with her in front then she moves backwards a few feet and then comes forward under my leg round the front , under my other leg to the front again, does a twirl and then comes round to heel on my left hand side where she sits.
She loves it and it has taught me not to underestimate your dogs intelligence ever.
If anyone is interested in trying any of the tests in the game on thier dogs let me know and I will post them slowly as I have time.
