Any ideas why Becksie (15 weeks) chases my oldest son when he runs. We can all be over the field playing and as soon as he moves she chases him and jumps up at him. She does chase the others if they run but always has an eye on Daniel in case he moves. He is very good with her and she loves him to bits but it is just when we are out.
Thanks
Linda

Hi Linda she may just not want to lose sight of him ,

Linda, she may be 'herding' him. If you feel that Daniel is in no danger from this, you could let it alone, but Becksie will get bigger, so I think I'd try to break the habit now.

She's a border collie isn't she? There in lies your answer. BCs do herd - obviously :D Plus children run away from them and that is one of the sheep leaving the flock, therefore the dog tries to take action. As Sharon says, take action now.

Try Understanding Border Collies by Barbara Sykes, available from Amazon. It explains all this kind of stuff much better than I can.
