A friend of ours has a 'diamond' made from a portion of her Dad's ashes. I guess if that's what gives you comfort, then fine. Not my cup of tea though - hugely expensive (and not even attractive to my mind, very yellow!).

I actually did think it a wonderful idea, though it is expensive:eek: And to many it may bring comfort to be able to wear something that is a part of someone they loved.

But then I got to thinking as to whether you could actually make that jump and associate a piece of jewellery to your loved one the way that you can visit a pet grave or ashes, having a dearly loved dog buried under my mothers garden tree, I can still feel him there and chat to him, could you do that to a piece of jewellery? I actually don't feel I could, but that is just me, to me a stone would not feel like my dog at all...........

I've already told my husband that if something happens to him he'll be on my finger soon after ;-)

Don't forget to get him to leave you the funds to do it ;)

i wander how much in weight of a human or animal ashes to make a diamond

Reading the web site it appears to be a nominal amount.  To be honest it all seems a gimic to me, which is fine if it brings people comfort but the price gives it the air of exploitation to me.  Still, what are expensive memorial headstones? :)
