evening all..
flo has started weeing inside, started about a month ago, roughly every 2/3 days she'l have an accident..we didnt know why, as she goes out for regular toilet breaks and has been toilet trained from day 1!
but ive realised that she seems to drink lots.. the room she is kept in is cool, and at this time of year-its quite chilly sometimes as she is in hall. so it cant be that she is hot.
she gets attention, so i know she's not doing it for that.. she always seems to be asking to go out - as if she cant hold any amount of urine in her bladder?..
she is nearly 2, lakeland terrier bitch.
cheers- i have heard of a disorder where dogs drink too much, it ends in 'phagia' i think? xxx

Could be a urine infection but drinking a lot is associated with diabeties. I think you need to take a sample into the vet really.

Need to take the whole dog to the vet as well as a sample - drinking too much can have many causes including diabetes insipidus and Cushings.
she has had a urine infection about 2 weeks ago, maybe still bothering her..
i'l take her, the last urine sample came back ok- apart from the blood from infection..
thanks xx

Don't forget to mention the excessive drinking to widen the investigation beyond just infection.

Don't worry too much. My IW guzzles water. He has been tested every which way and everything was normal. He just likes to drink gallons of water.
Hi,
Excessive drinking can be a sign of kidney problems too, so best to get it checked out.
