We're off to the vet in 10 minutes.  He has an appointment to have samples drawn for thyroid testing at 8.30, but over the last couple of days he's had a bout of diarrhoea that's gotten worse - last night it was explosive but there was hardly anything coming out, he ate his chicken and rice with gusto though.  But at 2am and now he's barley walking, obviously in a lot of discomfort in his abdomen and he won't go to the toilet - he's had a pee but walking is so uncomfortable that he just stood in the garden freezing his feet for 10 minutes.  I had to carry him indoors, and I'll have to carry him to and from the car for the vet as well.  It took me 10 minutes just to get him from my bed to the back door - with a carry down the stairs as well.

He's got me worried sick, he's a lazy dog at the best of times but this is just wrong.

Good news!  The vet thinks it's likely he's just eaten something that didn't agree with him and it's just working its way through.  The only thing I can think is half a rabbit - he's eaten quite a few in his life but not for a while, and I don't know what killed it.  We are avoiding that area of the walk now though!

He's got some digestion helping stuff (forgive me, completely forgotten what it is exactly - probiotics and something else for the diarrhoea I think), I've got to starve him today and then chicken and rice tomorrow.  If he's still squitty in 5 days he goes back - hopefully he'll be fine, although it's like a furry tap when he's in the garden at the moment!

He's not happy, shaking like a leaf when he's standing, but he is much more lively (for him anyway!) - he perked up when he thought we were going for a walk, and was the picture of energy when we were followed into the waiting room by a woman with a cat

yep, he's a right greedy little so-and-so :D definitely back to his old self though - he's trying to scrounge chicken bones at the moment
