I have a friend who is looking to get a puppy around July / August time, she wants a medium sized family dog and is quite interested in a spaniel.  I have told her about not getting one from working strain and checking health checks.  She is also thinking of visiting Crufts to have a look around Discover Dogs.  I told her I would have a look online for any breed club websites so she can get in contact with some breeders and was wondering if anyone knew of any breed club websites for Springers and cockers (English not American)

Aw, why not American (proud owner of a Yankee and 2 Cavs!) :-D

I dont think she wanted anything overly hairy   I know you can get them pet trimmed but they are novice dog owners.

I personally love Americans - got my friends two American crosses coming to stay on Thursday for 2 weeks :)

That's true, though I was a first time dog owner when I got my Yankee. My OH seems to find it hard to keep him tidy when he takes him on holiday to the Lakes, but I don't have much trouble most of the time. He's got a fairly full coat, though it took 4 years before he started growing it! :-)
