At training I was asked if I knew how to go about showing a DDB (someone told her I show) I dont know anything about this breed but believe they are not allowed to show yet....is this true?
I have informed her to contact her breeder for advice or maybe a local ringcraft class for more information ....
anyone with more info on this breed ?????
Not even sure if bitch is show quality as didnt like to suggest this but if I can give her the info she can get in touch with someone with more knowledge of this breed.
thanks in advance
Roni
Hi Roni - nice to hear from you -
You can show DDB, I think they are still on the Import Register, but I could be wrong about that, they might be due to come off.
As for if they are show quality or not, I think that is best left for "others" to decide, those with years of experience in the breed, I would never offer an opinion unless asked, if you are asked, all you can give is your own opinion, based on your experience and knowledge in a particular breed. As you say, you don't know much about them, so best to say that to the person involved, if she does ask your opinion. After all, there are numerous dogs from all breeds being shown, that some would class as not show quality. I have seen some really nice examples of the breed, and some awful ones (just like most breeds really). They were a relatively new breed here until a few years ago, and then there seemed to be a population explosion, there are sometimes 6 or 7 at our training classes. I think they beacme popular after the film Turner and Hooch.
See you soon, lol Kay
