I know several other posters on here are on aol too so thought I'd share with you. I've been thinking of cancelling aol and moving to telewest. I went onto uswitch and checked prices then called aol to cancel. I currently pay £24.99 per month for 2mb. The nice man at aol reduced this price to £14.99 a month (service stays the same), for as long as I stay with AOL!! He's also put a new wireless router in the post for free :)

I did this a couple of months ago, phoned them to see why I was paying £17.99 and they were advertising the same level for £14.99, they reduced my payment and sent me a wireless router.  All up and running now and I am very pleased with it.

Hi - I pay £26.99 a month with BT - how do you arrange to swap over?

If you have been with BT for 12 mths you can change over to a new ISP. You need to ask BT for a migration key which you then give to AOL. This will start the process of transfer. The transfer takes about 10 days and some providers stop your service straight away, meaning you have no internet for the 10 days. BT have to provide you with the service until the day you move to AOL. (It is just like an electricity / gas change over)

Before you change ask around your area for people on AOL and see how they get on with it. AOL is one of the companies who seem to have a problem delivering a service in some areas. They do not accept the problem but it is hard to get out of your 12 mth contract once signed in so best to check. For instance I used to live in Wales and all our friends had AOL as did we and none of us were ever connected!!!

Why not tell BT you are moving cos of the prices and see if they will do you a deal!!!
