can a bitch absorb in 7 or 8th week or would it be more like miscaaied in which case i would have seen something that might have been a pup or some sort of bad discharge?.It just seems she has,nt got any larger since 7th week and although rounded she,s not bulging at the sides she is a spaniel so not exactly a small breed.

Is she a maiden bitch? My Lexi was half the size of her mother yet had one more pup (8). Shge looked like a gym slip Mum just a very neat tum.
Can you feel any movement? just place your hands on her tum when she is resting, firmly but not pressing hard. Be patient and you might feel fluttery movements.
yes think i,ve felt pups movement but just wondered if she,d lost some at 7-8 weeks would i have seen the remains or can they still absorb without noticing at 7-8 weeks?
she,s a funny thing today she thinks she,ll be an invalid don,t fancy her usual food dont want much but fancy boiled ham , she,s due aprox sat so could be starting , but last time she was quite the drama queen. It,s funny how they all have their own little ways of dealing with whelping.Mind you be the same myself if 5/6 or more all came tumbling out , so quite understandable
ooh yes if she off food might be a sign
I dont think pups would reabsorb but could be stillbirths. just wait and see, not long now hopefully!

To be honest I think at 7/8 weeks their shape changes and the look " less pregnant" then they bloom again at the last hurdle.

Hi Blue - you wouldnt say that if you saw mine, she i like a Hippo....lol
I think the problem is you get used to seeing them on a daily basis and you might not see the growth, though someone who hasn't seen her for a couple of weeks might. Anxiety sets in at this stage as well don't you think? You just want it all to be over, for you and her and all to be safe and well.
