My son Jack who is eight started rugby in September.  He is quite big for his age but is also a gentle giant and not keen on play fighting etc.  He loves rugby but is very cautious so doesn't always get very involved.  Today he needed a new rugby shirt and my husband said if he played well he would get him one.  Did he play well!!!  He was tackling left right and centre and really got in there. 

At the end of the match I heard the coaches talk about who should get the Player of the week award.  There were about 5 boys to choose from but Jack got it.  :0)  One coach said he played a blinding match.  I am so proud of him and it has done his confidence so much good. 

We bought his shirt for him straight away and within 5 minuted he was covered in even more mud from playing with his friends whilst I had a glass of wine to celebrate.

I am soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo proud of him 

Aww, that's lovely.  That's it now though, you'll be standing there each week, sun, sleet and rain (sometimes horizontal ) and you won't even mind because of the pleasure you get from the pleasure they get.

My youngest is going into secondary education at the end of this school year and I am already dreading having to let go of watching all the things.
I've had my last nativity this Christmas gone, there will be no more sports day after the summer.....it all fades away. I have to hope my eldest son settles and breeds and I can then be granny and keep up with theses things that only younger children want you around for.

My daughter started secondary school in September and they really do change don't they poloaussie.  She is still quite sweet at home but has an attitude outside in order to look cool to all her friends. LOL 

It is true though I am quite happy to stand in the cold watching Jack as he does enjoy it so

and enjoy being proud, i remember going everywhere with 2nd son in all weathers as he was a very good footballer and the year he got highest goal scorer even though he broke his leg before the end of the season, i remember the feeling and although he never fails to make me proud now his sporting achievments when young were just that bit extra special. 

I'm a proud mum too, our eldest has just been accepted at the University of her choice.  I too can remember sports days :(  last Carol service :( etc.  where do all the years go hey

I'm sad to think the days of toys and games are over, but very proud to know she has achieved so much so far.
